Tehran Requests Iraq to Confront Presence of Iranian Opposition Kurdish Parties

Iran, through the Iraqi ambassador in Tehran, has requested Iraq to take action regarding the presence of Kurdish parties opposing the Iranian government. Press TV, the English-language media outlet of the Iranian government, states that the letter was delivered via Yasser Al-Hajjaj, the Iraqi ambassador in Tehran, with one copy sent to Baghdad and another to the authorities in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Tehran has urged the Iraqi government and the Kurdistan Regional Government to either hand over the leaders and members of the Kurdish parties to Iran or transfer them to a third country within a specified time frame. Officials from the Iraqi government, the Kurdistan Region, and Iran's Kurdish parties have not yet responded to the news.
