The Hosseini Passion in the Ashura Rituals of East Azerbaijan

Tabriz - IRNA - With the arrival of the month of Muharram, East Azerbaijan, especially Tabriz, is united in mourning and sorrow; however, this grief is accompanied by a unique fervor and passion. Mourning in this region is not merely a religious ritual but is rooted in the culture, history, and identity of the people who for centuries have expressed their devotion to the Master of Martyrs through special and epic traditions; many of these traditions, due to their cultural richness and antiquity, have been registered as intangible heritage in Iran's National Heritage list.
