Trump: Part of Iran's money has been released and will be spent on food purchases

Donald Trump announced that the first portion of Iran's blocked assets has been released and said Iran will use this money to buy food products from American farmers. Abdolnaser Hemmati, the governor of Iran's central bank, also implicitly confirmed these statements and said that the first 6 billion released, according to an agreement made in the Iranian year 1402 between Tehran and Washington, will be spent on food and medicine. Mr. Hemmati also said that the second 6 billion, after being released, will be used to purchase goods that are not subject to sanctions. Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, shortly after returning from Switzerland for "arrangements for Iranian management of the Strait of Hormuz" and to enhance bilateral cooperation, traveled to Muscat. Masoud Pezeshkian is also scheduled to travel to Pakistan.
